Trauma therapy in the Five Towns
A painful experience can continue to shape life long after it is over. You may feel on edge, avoid reminders, have trouble trusting people, or feel disconnected from your own emotions. You do not have to explain everything at once to begin getting support.
Dr. Benson Fox, PsyD, offers therapy in Cedarhurst for people in Lawrence, Woodmere, Hewlett, Inwood, and nearby Long Island communities. Telehealth is available throughout New York.
Begin with safety and understanding
The first conversation focuses on what is affecting you now, what helps you feel secure, and what you hope will change. We discuss your comfort with the pace of the work and how to handle difficult emotions between sessions.
How earlier experiences affect today
Therapy can examine the connections between painful experiences, self-blame, boundaries, and recurring relationship patterns. We work toward understanding your reactions and finding more choice in how you respond to people and situations now.
Trauma-related concerns vary. If you need a specific PTSD treatment or a more intensive level of care, we discuss that directly and consider an appropriate referral. Ask which treatment approach fits your concerns and how progress will be reviewed.
Care that respects your commitments
For frum and Orthodox Jewish clients, questions about religious values, family, and community privacy can be part of therapy. Your experience is heard on its own terms. People of every faith and background are welcome.
Take the next step at your pace
A free 15-minute consultation lets you ask about fit before arranging a session. Individual private-pay sessions are $250; insurance is accepted, with plan and service verification through Headway.
