Depression therapy in the Five Towns
You are getting through the day, but little feels enjoyable. Ordinary tasks take more effort, you pull away from people, or your inner voice becomes relentlessly critical. You may feel sad, numb, irritable, or unlike yourself.
Dr. Benson Fox, PsyD, offers individual therapy in Cedarhurst, serving Lawrence, Woodmere, Hewlett, Inwood, and nearby Long Island communities. Telehealth is available across New York.
You can start where you are
Persistent changes in mood, interest, energy, sleep, or concentration deserve attention. Depression does not look the same for everyone. An initial conversation helps clarify what you are experiencing, how it affects your life, and what kind of support may be useful.
Understanding what keeps you stuck
We pay attention to loss, disappointment, self-criticism, relationship patterns, and feelings that are difficult to express. Therapy also connects that understanding with your present life: reaching out, restoring routines, responding differently to yourself, and making room for meaningful activity.
We agree on goals you can recognize in daily life and discuss whether the work is helping. If another service or a medication consultation would be useful, we can talk about appropriate referrals and coordination.
Faith and identity have a place here
Frum and Orthodox Jewish clients can discuss religious commitments, community pressures, and family roles without leaving those parts of life outside the room. People of every faith and background are welcome.
